Lady Charlene Maria McCorn
Mrs. Charlene M. McCorn is the gifted, devoted and
anointed First Lady of the Faith A.M.E. Zion Church
of Atlanta, Georgia. Lady Charlene is a native of Monroe,
Georgia, having been reared in the Spring Hill A.M.E.
Zion Church of Monroe. A gifted musician and psalmist,
she began her music ministry nearly thirty years ago.
She has generously and graciously shared her gifts of
music and singing in the various churches that her husband
has pastored in Georgia, New Haven, Connecticut, Chicago
and Atlanta. She currently leads the Voices of Faith
Praise Team and directs the Praise Choir.
A life-long member of the A.M.E. Zion Church, Lady
Charlene has served the church in many capacities, including
being a Youth Council officer of the A.M.E. Zion National
Christian Youth Council (NCYC) and a district officer
in the Department of Christian Education. She has always
utilized her passion for young people in the service
of the Lord.
Lady Charlene is a long time educator, having served
as a public school teacher in the urban districts of
New Haven, Connecticut and Chicago, Illinois. She has
had a profound impact on the lives of her students,
who often refer to her as the best and most compassionate
teacher they have ever had the experience of knowing.
She is currently employed as a teacher at Bear Creek
Middle School, a Fulton County School in Fairburn, Georgia.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications
from Valdosta State University and a master’s
degree in education from the University of New Haven.
Lady Charlene is the proud wife of Pastor Lester Agyei
McCorn and the mother of William Elijah, Maliaka Kenyetta
and John-Charles.
