Our distinction |
We Are:
1. Evangelical: This is our biblical and theological basis for ministry. It is focused on the gospel of Jesus Christ and the salvation of souls.
2. Missional: This is our common purpose and commitment to win the world for Christ
and to establish the Kingdom of God (Beloved Community) on earth.
3. Global: We seek to establish and support ministries and programs that address the
spiritual, temporal and political issues affecting persons across the Diaspora, especially in areas where the A.M.E. Zion Church has a presence.
4. Africentric: Our beliefs and practices are based in African-centered values of reverence for God and creation, honoring the elders, preserving the family and community, and incorporating the Nguzo Saba of Kwanzaa.
5. Holistic: We seek to provide pastoral care and congregational concern for the total
being – body, mind and spirit – in all stages of the life cycle.
6. Prophetic: We are committed to establishing the Kingdom of God (Beloved Community) on earth through ministries of liberation, empowerment and social justice.
