Meet the Pastor & First Family


Rev. Jawwad J. Love
Rev. Love is an anointed and prophetic voice that reaches the young and the old in a world crying out for the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Rev. Love believes it is time for the body of Christ to stand up and walk in the power and favor of God. He believes it’s time to lead by faith.

Rev. Love was appointed to pastor Faith AME Zion Church by Bishop Kenneth Monroe, Presiding Bishop, South Atlantic Episcopal District – AME Zion Church, in October 2008, at the 137th Session of the Georgia Annual Conference. He is an Ordained Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. Rev. Love is the newly appointed Chairman of the Board of Evangelism for the South Atlantic Episcopal District, overseeing the evangelism work in the states of Georgia and South Carolina in the AME Zion Church.

Rev. Love accepted his call to the ministry at the turn of the 21st century at Washington Metropolitan AME Zion Church in St. Louis, Missouri. After preaching his trial sermon in 2001, he served as the Youth Pastor at Washington Metropolitan for one year. His pastoral work continued at other churches in the Missouri Conference, shepherding God’s people for seven years. Rev. Love has served under the leadership of three great bishops; Bishop Clarence Carr, the late Bishop Milton A. Williams, and Bishop Kenneth Monroe, of whom he currently serves under.

Rev. Love came to Faith after serving as pastor of Blackwell AME Zion Church in Webster Groves, Missouri. Prior to Blackwell, his pastorate included Jubilee AME Zion Church, Belleville, Illinois; St. John AME Zion Church, East St. Louis, Illinois; and Dunavant Chapel AME Zion Church in Jefferson City, Missouri. Rev. Love also served as an assistant to the pastor at Samuel Brown Temple AME Zion Church in St. Louis, Missouri. In addition, he led the work of evangelism on the local, district and conference levels while a member of the Missouri Conference.

Rev. Love has served as President/CEO of By Faith Leadership Ministries, Inc., a not-for-profit Christian leadership development organization; Executive Director of the Ujima Academy for African American Males; and served his country honorably in the United States Army, fighting in the first Gulf War-Operation Desert Storm in 1991. Rev. Love travels the country to colleges/universities and churches facilitating Christ-Centered leadership seminars. He has received many awards and recognition for his leadership in preparing a generation to serve Christ. Rev. Love is a graduate of Kansas State University where he majored in Political Science. He will be entering Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Fall 2010.

Rev. Love  is married to Tammi, a powerful and graceful woman of God, and they have two daughters, Alexandria and Elisha.

Mrs. Love is a powerful and graceful woman of God with the gift of discernment that speaks to the hearts of those she meets. She lives by the scripture “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39), because it is the continuous love of God that has always prevailed throughout her faith walk.

Mrs. Love has worked diligently in the church beside her husband, Rev. Jawwad J. Love. She has served in the Christian Education Department and the Young Adult Missionary Society (YAMS) on the local and district levels of the Missouri Conference of the AME Zion Church. She has worked with the Children’s Choir in the local church and has also served on the Conference’s Public Relations Committee.

Mrs. Love is the President and Lead Designer of One Love Creative Services, a business birthed with a distinct love of creativity through graphic design and 12+ years of experience. Her experience includes public relations, event coordination and marketing in the higher education, non-profit and print media sectors. Mrs. Love believes in the importance of using one’s gifts for the Kingdom and invests her creative skills in the church.

Mrs. Love is a 1995 graduate of Kansas State University (Manhattan, Kansas), having earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Journalism. She received her Master’s of Business Administration Degree from Fontbonne University (St. Louis, Missouri) in 2006. She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Mrs. Love travels the country with her husband to colleges/universities and churches facilitating Christ-Centered leadership seminars. She has received many awards and recognition for her leadership.
