The Health Ministry promotes good health through education.
Some Health Ministry – related events and activities at Faith:
· Monthly church-wide blood pressure screenings
· First Aid support for regular church services and special events
· Special half-day seminars on various health topics
· Health information brochures provided at church-wide events


Pictorial Highlights: Faith’s 7 Days of Outreach 2011
Faith touched the community a second consecutive year with its 7 Days of Outreach, held August 7-13, 2011. It is one of the church’s efforts to express the love of Jesus Christ to those around them. The Week included A Hometown Heroes Celebration, Clothes Give-a-Way, School Supply Donations to a local Children’s Home, Community Meal, Movie on the Lawn, and a Block Party.

Dr. T’Ofori-Atta Delivers Men’s Day Sermon
Dr. Ndugu T’Ofori-Atta was the keynote preacher for Faith’s Men’s Day Celebration, held Sunday, August 28, 2011.
Faith Receives Seven Awards at Atlanta District 2011 Awards Luncheon
Faith took home seven (7) awards from the Atlanta District’s 2011 Awards Luncheon held Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Smyrna Community Center. The awards recognized Zion Discipleship, Zion Stewardship, Zion Workmanship, and Zion Leadership.
Faith’s award recipients were: Livia Brown (Zion Workmanship), Pamela Perkins (Zion Workmanship), Ray Daniels (Zion Workmanship), Tommy Ross, Jr. (Zion Workmanship), Brandy Warren (Zion Workmanship), Cynthia Wilson (Zion Workmanship), and Bridget Rhodes (Zion Leadership). In addition, Church Administrator Leslie McCrary was awarded a certificate of appreciation from Presiding Elder Rev. Dr. John Paul Ruth for dutifully taking minutes during quarterly conferences.

Faith honored hometown heroes during its 7 Days of Outreach in a Sunday Worship Service, August 7, 2011.
Faith Gives Clothes Away at its Boutique During 7 Days of Outreach
Faith gave clothes, shoes, and household items away at its Boutique during the 7 Days of Outreach. The Boutique was open Tuesday, August 9, 2011 and due to need extended its days of service to Saturday, August 13.
Faith Donates School Supplies & Needed Items to Children’s Home During 7 Days of Outreach
Faith donated new school supplies and needed items to Carrie Steele Pitts Children’s Home during our 7 Days of Outreach. The donations were given Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Faith has a long standing relationship with Carrie Steele Pitts Children’s Home, located near the church.
Faith Feeds the Community with an Afternoon Meal During 7 Days of Outreach
Faith fed the community with an afternoon meal on Thursday, August 11, 2011 during its 7 Days of Outreach.
Faith Invites Community to a Movie on the Lawn During 7 Days of Outreach
Faith invited the community to a movie on the church’s lawn, Friday, August 12, 2011, during its 7 Days of Outreach. The featured movie was “Facing the Giants”. A great time of fellowship and fun!
Faith Has a Block Party for the Community During 7 Days of Outreach
Faith holds a Block Party for the community, Saturday, August 13, 2011, as the close of its 7 Days of Outreach. The Party included outdoor games; face painting; intecessory prayer table; blood drive; free hair cuts; free food; information booths on breast cancer, insurance, Girl Scouts, and the church; and a skating presentation! Everyone had a ball!
Faith Honors Mother Georgia Adams Brown with 100th Birthday Celebration!
Faith honored its oldest living member, Mother Georgia Adams Brown, with a celebration for her 100th birthday! It was a full day of excitement with special letters from state and national officials, including U.S. President Barack Obama. Pastor Love presented and draped Mother Adams Brown with a custom made cloak (tailored by a Faith member) to symbolize how she has covered the church with her prayers and wisdom.
Children Sing During Faith’s T’Ofori-Atta Summer Heritage Camp
Faith held a FREE Summer Camp for the community – The T’Ofori-Atta Heritage Camp – for children ages 5 to 12 years old. The week-long Camp took place in June 2011 and included a field trip to the Atlanta District Christian Education Conference held in Summerville, Georgia. The children participated in workshops and sang songs they learned during Camp.
T’Ofori-Atta Heritage Summer Camp Held in June 2011
The T’Ofori-Atta Heritage Summer Camp kicked off in June 2011. The Camp is offered to the community for FREE! Children ages 5-12 years learned about science, their heritage, and Christian fundamentals. The Camp honors the continous teachings and works of Dr. Ndugu “G.B” T’Ofori-Atta, the patriarch of Faith.

Faith honored its patriarch, Dr. Ndugu “G.B.” T’Ofori-Atta with an elaborate Appreciation Banquet, held June 4, 2011 at Carrie Steele Pitts Children’s Home, Olivette S. Allison Life Learning Center.

The Reunion Choir, made up of Faith and Shaw Temple AME Zion Church choirs, sang at Dr. T’Ofori-Atta’s Appreciation Banquet.
Children of Faith Attend Bishop Arthur Marshall Faith & Order Institute
Children of Faith, as well as adults, attended the 2011 Bishop Arthur Marshall Faith & Order Institute, held in June 2011 in Augusta, Georgia. The children of the Institute truly took the Institute to an awesome level of praise!

Members of Faith have a Vow Renewal Ceremony at the altar.
Missionaries Plant Garden at Children’s Home
For a second consecutive year, the women of Faith planted a garden of fruits and vegetables at a Children’s Home in the community. The Home’s children are enthusiastic about helping! The Home includes the yielded crop into their daily meals.
Two Are Consecrated to Be A Deaconess
Two of Faith’s own answered the call to be a deaconess and are crowned in a consecration service after months of training faciliatated by Pastor Love.
The Right Hand of Fellowship
Three are given the right hand of fellowship after completing all of their necessary classes.
